Voice - active and passive

"Voice" refers to the relationship of a verb to its subject. Active voice means that the subject of the sentence does the action of the sentence. Passive voice means that the subject of the sentence receives the action. Using active voice can considerably improve your writing style. Active voice makes your writing more interesting, more lively, more vivid, and much more ... well, active!

For example:

Passive - The study was completed by the Marketing Director.
Active - The Marketing Director completed the study.

Passive - Separate requisitions should be prepared by each buyer.
Active - Each buyer should prepare separate requisitions.
